Alive Africa
The Alive Africa project mission
The project focuses on multiple ways in which animals are central to the livelihood strategies of millions of people in the sub-Saharan Africa.
What is Alive Africa?
This project will undertake detailed ethnographic case studies in Kenya and Sierra Leone to shed light on contemporary livelihood strategies in sub-Saharan Africa.
A deeper understanding of human-animal relationships has important implications for sustainability across species and will help shift thinking around health and livelihoods in Africa from an anthropecentric perspective towards a post-humanist vision that enables multi-species stewardship.
